Registering a New Account
- If you are a first‑time applicant, click the Sign Up or Get Started button.
- You will be asked to enter your email address and mobile phone number.

- Choose a secure password and click Next or Continue.
- An OTP (One‑Time Password) will be sent to your mobile phone or email. Enter the OTP to verify your account.
- Once verified, your registration will be created and you will be redirected to your dashboard.
How to Log In
- Return to https://recruit.mod.go.ke and click the Login button.
- Enter the email address and password you used during registration.
- Press Submit to access your applicant dashboard.
- If you forget your password, use the Forgot Password link on the login page. An email with reset instructions will be sent to your registered email address.
How to Complete Your KDF Application Profile
After logging in, you will be taken to your personalised dashboard.
- Click the notification or link to complete your profile. This may include personal details, address, and demographic information.
- Upload your required documents such as copies of your National ID, KCSE or degree certificates, and any professional certificates.
- Make sure all entries are accurate and match your official documents.
- Review the information and save each section before navigating to the next.
Applying for KDF Vacancies
Once your profile is complete, go to the Vacancy Panel on the portal dashboard.
The portal displays all advertised positions that match your qualifications.
- To apply, choose the specific job category such as GSO Cadet, Specialist Officer, or Tradesman/Woman.
- Click on the position and select Apply.
- On the application page, answer all required questions and confirm your details.
- Submit your application by clicking the Submit button.
Checking KDF Status After Submission
After submission, you will normally receive a confirmation message on the portal and via your registered email.
You can check your application status any time by logging into the portal and navigating to the Applied tab in your dashboard.
Shortlisted candidates for various stages of the recruitment process are usually published in print media as stated in the official recruitment adverts as well as on the portal.
For physical recruitment categories like General Duty Recruits and Defence Forces Constables, you may be invited to designated centres with your original documents as stipulated.
